Our rates are inclusive of as many animals and chores as we can attentively handle
in your contracted time(s). This includes many tasks that other services charge extra for: administering
medicines, dog walking, and light house-sitting duties (such as bringing in the mail, watering
plants, etc.), and supervised out-of-cage time for tame companion birds.
Our prices can even include animal errands if they are arranged in advance!
We DO NOT just run in & run out of your home. We spend quality time with your pet so our rates reflect that.

Our
Daily rate includes AN HOUR of time in your home playing with and caring
for your animal friend(s) and doing general housesitting duties. This rate
is $45.00 for contracts that are less than 7 days (for trips of 7 days or longer,
see weekly or multi-week rates). This fee includes all pets
in the house that can be seen and attended to in that hour. (Additional
planned for or unexpected hours are $25.00 per hour.)
An hour-long visit (our minimum for social animals such as parrots, dogs, and cats) ensures supervised flight, play,
walks, lap time, and exercise time for birds and other companion animals,
hands-on care of your animals (feeding, cleaning environments, etc.), and specialized tasks like training for
birds (also see our ongoing visit fee if you desire ongoing regular training), handfeeding or medicating.
We spend more time with animals than most services, and this ensures interaction with your pal!

Our Twice
Daily rate includes two hours of time (one hour in the AM, one in the PM) in your home playing with and caring
for your animal friend(s) and doing general housesitting duties. This rate is $80.00. This fee includes all pets
in the house that can be seen and attended in those hourly visits. (Additional
planned for or unexpected hours are $25.00 per hour.)
Setting up a twice daily schedule is ideal for homes with social animals such as parrots and dogs. It allows for twice
daily walks or park visits, and/or two hours of cage free play time for parrots. Twice daily is also ideal for parrots as they
can be covered at bedtime and uncovered again in the AM, keeping as normal of a routine as possible. Twice daily visits ensure
supervised flight, play, walks, lap time, and exercise time for birds and other companion animals,
hands-on care of your animals (feeding, cleaning environments, etc.), and specialized tasks like training for

Weekly Rate (7 days of daily care)
Our
Weekly rate includes AN HOUR of time in your home playing with and caring
for your animal friend(s) and doing general housesitting duties for seven days. One week (7 days) of
daily care (once daily, one hour visits) is $285.00 (twice daily, one hour visits for a week is $504). This fee includes all pets
in the house that can be seen and attended in those hourly visits. (Additional
planned for or unexpected hours are $25.00 per hour.)
An hour-long visit (our minimum for social animals such as parrots, dogs, and cats) ensures supervised flight, play,
walks, lap time, and exercise time for birds and other companion animals,

Multi-Week Rate
Our Multi-
Week rate includes AN HOUR of time in your home playing with and caring
for your animal friend(s) and doing general housesitting duties for two or more weeks.
Two or more weeks of daily care (once daily, one hour visits) is $268.00 per week (twice daily, one hour visits for a week is $476). This fee includes all pets
in the house that can be seen and attended in that hour. (Additional
planned for or unexpected hours are $25.00 per hour.)

Ongoing, Regular Visits Each Week
Our
Ongoing, Regular rate includes AN HOUR of time in your home on a special project- perhaps a bird that needs a person to play
with, a bird that needs socialization, and/or a bird that needs behavior training. Or perhaps you need your whole zoo to be
looked after more often, as you spend long hours at work. A dog needs playtime, not just a quick walk around the block! A parrot
thrives when s/he participates in flock activities such as eating, bathing, playing, and preening. Let Squawk and Howl be a part
of your extended flock!
The Ongoing Regular rate has a 15% discount off the Daily rate, and is $40.00. (Additional
planned for or unexpected hours are $25.00 per hour.)

Does your cockatiel get night frights? Does your dog sleep better in the bed with a human? If
you want a Squawk & Howl staffer to stay overnight
with your pet, that can be arranged! 9:30 PM - 7 AM stays cost $80.

Because Squawk and Howl is dedicated to a higher level of service, our
"Drop By" rate is only available to animals who do not need human socialization (like fish or reptiles). The Drop By includes
servicing your animals (health check, food and water, cleaning environment), video and/or photographs sent by email, and doing
general housesitting duties.
Since this does not require interacting and playing with animals (an hour is our minimum for social animals)
for your animal friend(s). This rate is $35.00. This fee includes all pets
in the house that can be seen and attended in a half hour. (Additional
planned for or unexpected hours are $25.00 per hour.)

Sometimes
the only available appointment for the vet or groomer is during work
hours, and you just can't get away. We know that being a responsible bird parent sometimes involves long distance travel
to a board certified avian vet! Have no fear! Squawk and Howl will
safely transport your animal to its regular provider (or ask us for
a vet or groomer referral!) for $40.00 per hour and includes all travel costs.

Sometimes,
you need to leave town unexpectedly. Most often, we can accomodate you
with a little juggling. For requests with less than a week's notice,
we add a one-time extra surcharge of $35.00 to your rate.

Catered Treats & Diets for Birdies
Bird
nutrition compels a loving owner to provide more than seeds and water.
But getting a bird to eat healthy choices (like pellets and fresh foods)
can be a challenge. The key is persistence, repetition, and variety.
We can provide all organic fresh greens, fruits, vegetables, and pellets
to your bird while you are away. Daily organic diets are
$5.00 per bird, per day.
We also make & make organic treats like birdie bread, sweet potato
balls, birdie pancakes, & spicy rice paste that birds go crazy for!
Bird owners report increased activity, happy squawking, and vitality
after eating our treats. Ingredients in these treats are healthy, fresh, organic
whenever possible, and tasty!
Each treat (one bird daily serving) is a mere dollar! Ask us to bring
them along!
Bored bird? We can assess what toys your bird prefers and bring along specially made ones
with your bird's preferences and size in mind! Toys range in price and start at $2.00 and go up from there.
Healthy Parrots need physical contact (from another bird or their human flock), baths,
play (interactive and with toys), and a good diet (pellets, fresh foods in addition to
treats like seed).
We can help with pellet conversion, screaming, biting, overly fearful birds, cage-bound birds,
step up and other socialization and training.
Bored bird? We can assess what toys your bird prefers and bring along specially made ones
with your bird's preferences and size in mind! Toys range in price for $1.00-$10.00.
We can help you de-toxify your home, rehab a cage, and do other bird-related consulting. Just ask!
Rates are $35 an hour, plus related travel (bridge toll, mileage) costs.
Registration/ Preliminary Home Visit
In
order for us to enroll you in the service, a short home visit needs
to be arranged. Our sitters can then meet the animals in their own environment,
taking notes, so we can provide customized care for your special friend.
(This will also show you how we get along with your animals).
On this short, hour-long visit, we'll also pick up keys, get your pet's
health records, and set up billing for your account. After this visit,
you can use our services any time you need them! Because this visit takes at least
two hours of our time, a fee must be charged. The fee for account
set up and home visit is a mere $30.00.
Unexpected Added Hours & Costs
Sometimes we end up staying longer than we had agreed upon in advance out of necessity. (If your pet is ill, we may need to take it to a vet for you, for example. Or sometimes birdies don't want to return to their cages. Or maybe fido is being stubborn & won't take his necessary meds.) If this happens, we charge for the extra time at a $25.00 per hour rate (prorated), plus any costs incurred helping your animal (vet costs, etc.). Rest assured, we will contact you immediately if this happens to let you know. (Since we run on a schedule, we try and avoid this possibility as well).
On
holidays, we add an extra daily $25.00 surcharge to our rates. The following
dates are considered holidays at Squawk and Howl:
January 1, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, December 24, December 25, December 31st.

who adopt or foster a bird in need. If
you help birds through a 501(c) 3 (non-profit)
bird rescue (like Mickaboo, The Peninsula Humane Society, Companion Parrot Connection,
PEAC, or The Gabriel Foundation) as an adoptive or foster parent, or you have privately
adopted or fostered a parrot through Squawk's private rescue, your services are 10%
off!
