Companion parrots are our passion at Squawk and Howl.
Most traditional pet sitters, while well-meaning, have no clue as to how to handle a parrot- which means parrots get the short shrift and stay locked in cages when inexperienced folks come to watch them.
Relying on a friend or neighbor or relative who is going to "come over in their spare time" is also a recipe for a lonely bird.
So Squawk and Howl was born- to become the doting uncles and aunties to the Bay-Area-wide flock of companion parrots! We love what we do and love all our feathered clients!

Parrot centricity
And we are parrot-centric, which means that we know how to handle birds, detect their illnesses, and focus on their needs. Rather than leaving them in the cage, we offer showers, singing and dancing, fun and games.
Squawk and Howl loves and understands birds. Our staff has socialized, tamed and rehabilitated birds ourselves! We know that daily proper diet goes beyond seeds and water. We know what a bird-proofed play area looks like. And we ensure that willing, tame birds get daily out of cage supervised flight and exercise time, baths, and interactive play. We also do all the other things pet sitters do (change food and supplements, rotate toys, clean cages).
Love and peace of mind
We offer photos and/or videos of your pals, emailed to you while you are away. And, of course, we also take care of all your other non-human friends in our visit, too. We have a fondness for fur, fins, and scales as well as feathers!

Parrots and Dogs
The ideal combination for our services at
Squawk and Howl
As with the birth of the best parrot-centric pet sitting in the Bay Area, Squawk and Howl has expanded to become the doting uncles and aunties to dogs! We love what we do and love all our furry clients. Parrots and Dogs are two extremely social creatures and love to be entertained.
Our clients that have parrots and dogs have always been pleased with our care of their canines, from the tiniest teacup Chihuahua to the biggest Newfoundland. We have offered walks, park time, medicating, and much more for our furry friends.

Dog walking for lone wolves !
Would your dog(s) benefit from a solo walk? Well, frankly all dogs benefit- but some dogs just do not have the option of doing the group walk/dog park standard service. These special dogs need exercise and companionship like all dogs do, but you, as their trusted human, know that they would not thrive in a boisterous group setting.

There are many reasons why you would choose a solo walk over a group one. This service is ideal for:
• dog aggressive dogs,
• non-socialized new adoptions and fosters,
• sick and elderly dogs,
• or just plain ol' fraidy dogs.
And it's affordable! Tell us about your needs and we will try and meet and exceed them.
Tell us what you need and we can set up visits once a week or more. Discounts given for multiple times per week and all weekdays of the month.
Have a couple of dogs that are great with each other, but not with others? No problem! We'll take them both for walks.
